Non-urgent advice: Pharmacy First

Did you know that your local pharmacy can now prescribe antibiotics for common ailments. It includes the supply of appropriate medicines for 7 common conditions including earache, sore throat, and urinary tract infections, aiming to address health issues before they get worse.

For the 7 common conditions, pharmacists will follow a robust clinical pathway which includes self care and safety-netting advice and only if appropriate, supplying a restricted set of prescription only medicines without the need to visit a GP.

111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
